Club Competitions and Handicaps

Donnington Grove runs variety of competitions throughout the year organised by the competitions sub-committee and headed by our Competitions Secretary Andy Storer.

Full details of all competitions can be found in the club competitions manual. All  club competitions are updated via the competition notice boards, the Pro Shop and our website news. So please keep an eye out and don’t miss out!

Our rolling knock out competitions are held in summer and winter and entry forms are available on the competitions drop down menu or via the Pro Shop. Every competition has specific entry requirements and full details of these can be checked in the pro shop or in the competitions manual.

Handicaps are closely linked with any golf competition. Updated member handicaps can be found on the competitions notice board, by clicking this link  or the link on the member’s home page. Please remember that the rules of golf, place the responsibility on members for policing their own handicaps. You should not therefore rely solely on club information which is ‘current’ at the time of printing.

A useful way to track your handicap and results is via the web site Howdidido. or by registering with English golf Union who will track your handicap and provide you with a membership card to use at any other golf club. Current handicaps can also be found on this website and in hard copy on the notice board.

Once a year DGCC conduct a formal handicap review and take a systematic look  at member’s results throughout the year, using CONGU rules to see whether any handicaps should be adjusted either up or down, any member affected by these decisions will be duly notified.

Have a great golfing year and remember, you have to be in it to win it, and please remember, the best handicap is an active one!
